Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations (f/m/d)



Ihre Aufgaben.

The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for the manufacturing of analytical instruments and spare parts for the High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) business. He/she leads the production team for multiple value streams and drives the safety of our employees and the fulfillment of supply plans in the factory in collaboration with other Operations functions such as Master Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Order Fulfillment.  The Sr. Manager Manufacturing Operations will report to the Sr. Director Operations for HPLC and will be based out of Germering.

Ihr Anforderungsprofil.

  • To lead, manage and develop all Value Stream Team members to realize high performance and continuous improvement. To carry out PMD’s for all appropriate staff ensuring that SMART goals are set, agreed and monitored. To make recommendations for succession planning, talent development and necessary learning interventions to ensure the teams are fully competent
  • Lead manufacturing, in-process quality control, implementation of employee training plans and safety risk assessments to meet or exceed operational goals in safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.
  • Define and implement manufacturing processes to comply with applicable regulatory & quality requirements
  • Drive a strong culture of accountability through in-process metrics & data driven decision making
  • Develop capacity plans & process improvement initiatives and ensure resources to meet customer demand
  • Lead and promote lean initiatives, digitalization & automation in production, ensuring manufacturing budgets are managed and aligned to the business activities
  • Participate in new product introductions to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Quality
  • Partner with other Operations teams in a matrix organization to meet customer expectations globally
  • Promote a positive and proactive work environment to sustain strong employee engagement levels


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferably in Industrial Management, Chemistry, Production Technology or similar
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in front-line leadership roles of high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Certification in Six Sigma or similar qualification of advantage
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 or 13485, quality education / certificate of advantage
  • Proven track record in leading and implementing continuous improvement and/or lean activities
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent collaboration skills to lead in an international, multi-site environment
  • Results oriented with a productivity mindset & ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and concise communication skills in spoken and written German and English
