The situation
Sufficient knowledge of operational excellence was already present before the project began. Even so, gaps were identified during implementation that stemmed from a lack of change management and the right mindset. The challenge was to embed the OpEx culture in operations gradually and sustainably.

Development of a communication plan and a stakeholder engagement system, because the subject knowledge was already there and what was missing was change management.
Design of a continuous improvement process tailored to the operation rather than to a generic framework.
Coaching and training for the project teams, so that the OpEx culture was carried by the people involved rather than imposed on them.
Regular check-ups to sustain the OpEx culture, so that it remained anchored in the operation beyond the project itself.
