Entourage supports drug manufacturers from active substance to distribution: contamination control strategy under EU GMP Annex 1, inspection readiness for FDA and EU inspections, computer system validation and data integrity per 21 CFR Part 11, tech transfer and GDP-compliant supply chains. The costliest gap usually sits at the handovers between development, production, quality and logistics, where no one carries end-to-end responsibility.
For decision-makers
Findings end in Form 483 observations, warning letters or a statement of non-compliance with consequences for the GMP certificate. The most expensive gap usually sits at the handovers between development, production, quality and logistics. Building inspection readiness only shortly before the date means repairing under time pressure.

What challenges shape Pharma?
Contamination control strategy per Annex 1
The EU GMP Guide Annex 1, published in 2022 and applicable since August 2023, requires a cohesively documented contamination control strategy (CCS) for sterile manufacturing that ties together facility design, personnel flow, environmental monitoring, and barrier technology. Many sites have individual measures in place, but no robust CCS as a coherent body of evidence.
Inspection readiness for FDA and Member State authorities
Where deficiencies are found, FDA inspections per 21 CFR Part 210/211 end in Form 483 observations and, for significant violations, in Warning Letters. EU inspections per EudraLex Volume 4 end in an inspection report and, if the case escalates, in a Statement of Non-Compliance. Establishing audit readiness only shortly before the inspection means repairing under time pressure, and it risks recurring findings.
Data integrity and computer system validation
FDA inspectors assess electronic records against 21 CFR Part 11, and the Member State authorities against the EU GMP Guide Annex 11, each along the ALCOA principles that FDA and EMA name in their data integrity Q&As. Shared logins, unreviewed audit trails, and raw data that can be overwritten after the fact are among the most common data integrity findings in computerized GxP systems.
Tech transfer and process validation
The transfer from development to commercial scale requires qualification and validation per EU GMP Guide Annex 15 as well as a process performance qualification (PPQ, a term from the FDA Process Validation Guidance of 2011), underpinned by ICH Q8 to Q10. If the knowledge from development is not handed over cleanly, validation fails on parameters whose rationale is missing at the new scale.
GDP-compliant distribution of temperature-sensitive medicinal products
The EU GDP Guidelines 2013/C 343/01 require that the quality achieved in manufacturing is preserved all the way to the recipient. For cold-chain biologics and vaccines, temperature mapping, calibrated temperature monitoring, a risk assessment of delivery routes, and qualified equipment become a core operational requirement.
In pharma, the outcome usually depends on the handovers between development, production, quality and logistics. Teams that treat data integrity, process validation and inspection readiness as one from the start pass the inspection because operations already live it.

Operational Consulting
How do we work in large projects?
Entourage takes operational project responsibility with its own salaried consultants. You define the goal, we lead the project there, from a clearly scoped individual project to ongoing project support under a framework agreement.
Project management by Entourage
An Entourage project manager runs the plan, the schedule and escalation and reports to a steering committee. Steering is based on milestones, KPIs and regular reporting, with control of time, budget and quality.
Roles on site for a limited period
Entourage fills roles on site for a limited period, including the project lead until your team takes over. All Entourage consultants are salaried employees; we do not place freelancers.
The right model
Depending on the project goal and governance requirements, we choose the model: managed service with a service description per work package, a dedicated expert mandate with a consistent point of contact throughout the project, or a project package with fixed milestones and predictable costs.
Start and handover
You usually hear back from us within one business day. Your Entourage experts start on-site or remotely, with reporting from the first day. At the end, the consultants document and train so that your team continues the project on its own.
